Preview: The Call Sheet, Feb. 9
All of it is arriving in subscribers' email inboxes on Thursday.
This week’s edition of The Call Sheet will go out on Thursday, Feb. 9, as part of a short-term experiment on alternative delivery days. I expect this week’s edition and the one for the week of Feb. 19 to each go out on their Thursdays, and we’ll go from there.
Allow me to thank you all for being so supportive of this endeavor, and for your patience as I work through some of the strains of getting things just right, both on my end and for the community as a whole.
However, I wanted to make sure I didn’t leave you hanging and instead wanted to preview some of the topics I’ll be covering as part of this week’s edition—and it’s chock full of some great stuff.
Some of the things to look for:
An examination of what DC is doing with its film and television universe, and why I’m not overly excited for what’s to come
Thoughts on the planned Michael Jackson biopic
What I got wrong about Oscars nominations, and why Andrea Riseborough deserves her controversial Best Actress nod
What’s coming to theaters, television and streaming this week
Reviews of two movies: Women Talking and Knock at the Cabin
Checking in on The Last of Us (the newest episode is now streaming—if you haven’t already, be sure to check out this series on HBO Max!)
A box office update
I can’t wait to share all of this, and more, with you on Thursday!
If you have any questions or comments, you’re welcome to leave a note on this newsletter, or email me directly at mickeyatthemovies@gmail.com.
